What is a Managed VPS?
• Managed VPS services come with your choice of OS installed - Linux or Windows Server - and are ready for use within minutes after placing your order. Central Maine TekWerx VPSs are optimized for our environment and can be deployed to any of our data center locations.
How do I access my VPS server?
• Our Windows Servers come with Remote Desktop (RDP) access as well as Virtual Network Computing (VNC) access to your server. You have full Administrator access to any Windows VPS, which allows you to manage and configure it. Our Linux Servers provide full root access so that you have full control, with as many options for customization.
Can I upgrade my VPS server at a later time?
• You are more than welcome to upgrade your Linux VPS anytime if you need more RAM, CPU Cores, Disk Space, or Bandwidth. In fact, you can upgrade using our predefined packages anytime through your Cloud Control Portal. Simply choose the resources you need to upgrade your server. Once you have requested it, you will need to apply the upgrade and confirm that you wish to resize your disk to implement it. Although you are able to build your own server and add custom resources as needed, we suggest using a predefined package.
Should I order a managed or unmanaged server?
• The choice is entirely up to you. Our goal is to give you as many options as possible, to back the services we offer you with Enterprise Hardware, and to provide our services for the lowest price possible. Our Unmanaged VPS plans allow us to give clients who have experience with monitoring and maintaining Virtual Private Servers more cost-effective plans.
